Welcome to Fort Steilacoom Parent Education Cooperative
A lot of changes are happening at FSPEC!
After much consideration, Fort Steilacoom Parent Education Cooperative has decided to merge with North Tacoma Cooperative Preschool.
Teacher Debbie will be teaching 3 classes there! Please click the link below for their website and more information.
As we close this chapter, we just want to extend a thank you to all of our loyal families. The last few years have been a roller coaster as our program has been shut down by our first affiliated college, and now by the state of Washington cutting funds to our current affiliated college.
Special thanks also go out to everyone who has worked tirelessly over the last few years trying to keep the program afloat. First, Teacher Debbie for your dedication, love, and all the extra hours put in. Secondly to our board members who stayed on even after their kids graduated the program, Michaela Caro, Tiffany Silver, and Asa Scherer. Also a big shout out to Yumiko Heath, Mickey Oskvig, and Heather Robison for all your hard work and love for the program!
Any questions can be directed toward our President here
Meet the teacher!

A.A. Early Childhood Education, B.S. Global Health
I have been working as a cooperative preschool teacher since 2013 and value the benefits that forging relationships with families has on the whole child. My role as an educator is to support and structure educational goals in a hands-on way that engages and excites children. I believe that play is the work of childhood and seek to provide meaningful, experiential learning opportunities for children of all ages. I am also a mother, gardener, baker, hiker and avid Michigan fan. I have lived in the Puget sound area since 2010 and love exploring all of its beauty with my two young children.
